Food Porn Can Satisfy Hunger

According to a research article by the Journal of Consumer Psychology, looking at images of food helps in satisfying your hunger.

Demonstrated in two studies, they found that people would become more satiated on food after repeatedly looking at similar foods shown in images. Looking at foods that are similar to ones consumed apparently has a similar effect to that of actual consumption of the foods. The study found that people who looked at food longer would develop a sense of decreased enjoyment for the taste of the food presented, in turn, simulating a satiation for the food on display. These studies have found that sensory simulations are important mechanisms in satiation and provide behavioral evidence that simple evaluations, such as staring at food, can produce sensory-specific satiety.
