Overview

Now Foods Pea Protein is one of the few pea proteins on the market, it provides highly bio-available protein from peas without the major allergens found in other powders. It’s a great source of post-workout nutrition for people allergic to whey protein powders. It’s made from non-GMO vegetables and packs 24g of easily digestible protein in each serving, along with 4.2g of Branched Chain Amino Acids and 2g of L-Arginine. NOW Sports Pea powder is perfect for mixing in with drinks due to its natural unflavored state.

Quality

At 120 calories per serving, low fat and carbs, and 24 grams of protein, it’s a pretty good quality lean protein powder. A perfect fit if you’re going to lean muscle building goodness sourced from organic foods. It also comes with nice Branch Chained Amino Acid profile to help with protein absorption and muscle growth. Vegan friendly, soy, and dairy free. Overall, probably one of the better organic protein powders on the market, especially if you’re trying out different types of protein. Super affordable and highly recommend for the cost and quality.

Taste

This pea protein powder comes unflavored, but the taste can be a bit unpleasant if you’re only used to taking whey protein powders. The plus side is, once you get over the taste, it should be smooth sailing from there. As always, adding more fruits to your shake can help mask the taste. Aside from taste, it does have a gritty texture to it. Organic protein users are probably used to this, but most whey protein comes in silky smooth powders, so this might turn you off as well if you’re not used to it.

Cost

The cost per ounce for their protein powder is actually the lowest compared the other top 10 protein powders of the year rated on this chart. As of today, a 2 pound container costs $16, making the cost of one ounce $0.50/ounce.
