Overview

Optimum Nutrition is one of the industry’s best selling and best rated whey protein powders. It’s sourced from whey isolates, providing 24 grams of protein in each serving. Mixed with whey concentrate and 5.5 grams of Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs), it’s a game changer in muscle building. The powder has over twenty different flavors, with vanilla and chocolate being the top two most desired of the bunch. To keep up its standard, all of its whey is produced and regulated in the United States.

Quality

This is some of the best stuff on the market and the quality is almost unbeatable. Many powder brands source their whey protein from different countries, but Optimum Nutrition (ON) has their own plant in the United States. There, they extract their own whey and make sure it abides to all US regulations. This highly reduces the amount of metals and hormones found in the protein, making sure you get only the best for building muscle.

Taste

Good tasting powders are hard to achieve, but ON Gold Standard has succeed in this area with some of their many flavors for their powders. There are a total of 18 flavors for this product. Some of the best tasting ones include Extreme Chocolate Milk, Natural Vanilla, Double Rich Chocolate, and Strawberry. These are the few that come up time and time again as the best tasting, so any of those four are your best bet if it’s your first time buying.

Cost

The cost per ounce is on the higher end of the protein powder spectrum, but nowhere near as high as some powders go. As of today, the cost of one ounce of this brand is around $0.97/ounce. This is the cost of the 5 lb container. The smaller containers usually cost more and will probably break a dollar per ounce.
